1. App store age rating (18+)
Apple App Store and Google Play assign age ratings to apps based on the content they contain. Gastrona is currently classified 18+ on the App Store primarily because wine and other alcoholic beverages appear frequently in pairing recommendations, descriptions, educational material, imagery, and user activity. This is a platform content classification. It does not by itself determine who is eligible to create a Gastrona account or receive promotional communications from us.
2. Gastrona account eligibility (25+)
Registration and use of account-based features require that you are 25 years of age or older. During registration, you must confirm that you meet this age requirement. Gastrona is not intended for minors. It is also not intended to be used in any jurisdiction where the service or relevant alcohol-related content is prohibited or restricted by applicable law. If you do not meet the eligibility requirements for an account, you must not register for or use account-based features. Some parts of the Service may be viewable without an account. Account-based features (including logging activities, following others, commenting, messaging, and public or followers-visible profiles) require an eligible account.
3. What the app contains
Gastrona is a wine and food pairing app with a personal gastronomy log and optional social features. Users regularly encounter wine names, descriptions, and pairing recommendations; educational information about wine, food, and gastronomy; images related to wine and meals (including user-uploaded photos and video of meals, drinks, and experiences); AI-assisted pairing suggestions and related product features; and optional social features such as public or followers-visible profiles, follows, a chronological feed of shared activities, comments, lightweight appreciation ("Toasts"), and direct messages. New activity logging is private-first by design: you can choose visibility per activity (private, followers, or public) and set a default. Public profiles are opt-in. Entity pages (for example wines, recipes, or pairings) may show community comments visible to other users. Direct messages are private between participants, with a Message Requests model for people you do not follow; you can block, mute, and report. Outbound share cards and deep links may let you share entities or activities outside the app. Do not post photos of children without the legal right to do so; anyone can report a child photo (including without an account) via trust@gastrona.app or gastrona.app/content-moderation. 4. What Gastrona is not
Gastrona is designed for adult gastronomy and wine pairing. In particular:
- Gastrona does not sell alcohol or facilitate alcohol purchases.
- Gastrona does not encourage underage drinking or excessive alcohol consumption.
- Gastrona does not include gambling, loot boxes, or unrestricted web browsing within the app.
- Gastrona does not provide medical or health treatment advice.
- User-generated content is subject to our Community Guidelines and Content Moderation Policy. Content that violates those rules may be restricted, removed, or limited to the author.
5. Content summary
Based on current app store age-rating classifications and how the product works today, Gastrona contains:
- Frequent references to wine and other alcoholic beverages
- User-generated photos, video, captions, comments, and messages about meals, drinks, and hospitality
- No intended focus on profanity, horror themes, sexual content, or violence (such content is prohibited under our Community Guidelines)
- No gambling, simulated gambling, contests with rankings, or loot boxes
- No medical or wellness treatment information
6. In-app content and promotional communications
In-app pairing recommendations and educational content are provided as core product features to eligible account holders. Promotional communications relating to wine or other alcoholic beverages — for example, certain push notifications or emails — are handled separately from core in-app functionality. Where such communications are used, they are sent only where permitted by applicable law, only to users who meet our age requirements, and only where any required consent or user choice has been obtained or made available. Information about how to manage notification and communication preferences is provided in the app and/or in your device or account settings.
7. Responsible communication
We aim to present wine-related information in a factual, educational, and moderate tone focused on food pairing. Our service and communications are intended to be designed and operated in line with applicable law, including relevant alcohol-marketing rules. We do not intend to use youth-oriented language or framing that encourages or glamorizes drinking. User-generated content must also follow our Community Guidelines on responsible drinking.
8. Regional availability
Gastrona may not be available in all countries or regions. Local laws and platform policies can restrict apps with alcohol-related content. We may use app store country-availability controls and other access measures where appropriate. The Service, or certain features or content within it, may be unavailable or limited depending on your region and applicable law.
