About Gastrona

We build the intelligence layer between food and wine.

A small European team — engineers, sommeliers, designers — making thoughtful wine choice normal at home, at the table, and across the wine trade.

We build the intelligence layer between food and wine.
How it started

Born between courses, in a Stockholm kitchen

We're engineers, sommeliers, designers and parents who got tired of the same compromise every Friday night. Either you over-think the wine and the food gets cold, or you grab whatever's nearest and the meal feels half-finished. We wanted a quiet, smart layer that would tell us, in our language, what to drink with what we were already cooking. So we built it for ourselves first.

Gastrona today

At the table, in the trade, in the open.

Home cooks use the app. Retailers and restaurants embed the same matching intelligence under their brand. We publish standards and evaluation for the wider field.

What we believe

Principles we won't compromise on

The meal comes first

Built for the dish on the plate, not the collector's cellar. If the food gets cold while you read, we failed.

Fewer matches, honest reasons

Every recommendation ships with a real why. No mystery scores, no padded lists of wines you'll never find.

Your language, your context

Eight languages, European markets, recommendations that read naturally — not translated machine-style.

Craft is the product

Language, detail and usefulness aren't polish added at the end. They're how we earn trust at the table.
